Ambassador´s Corner

The Danish business is strongly represented in Singapore, with nearly 150 Danish owned businesses registered at the moment. The Danish colony includes approximately 1400 persons divided between 450 families and individuals.

The Danish Embassy attaches importance to a strong and effective sense of unity among the Danes in Singapore. This sense of unity is unfolded in the activities managed by the embassy, the Danish Seaman’s Church and DABS, which individually and in collaboration offers a range of events for Danes living in Singapore.

The Danish Embassy strives at playing a special role in regards to the Danish business community here in Singapore.

One of the Embassy’s main purposes is to promote Danish export to Singapore. The Embassy’s Trade Department assists Danish businesses through a wide range of services. These services include market surveys, support in setting up businesses, identification of potential local business partners etc. – all tailored to the needs of the specific company. DABS plays a vital role in this regard because Danish businesses can make use of and be part of this unique network.

The Embassy issues a daily electronic newsletter, Nyt fra Asien, containing a brief overview of the latest economic, political and business relevant news from the region together with regular analysis of political and economic subjects in Asia. Many Danish businesses, organisations and authorities with international perspectives subscribes to this special opportunity of getting an insight to what is going on in Southeast Asia, the Far East and Oceania. A 30 day trial subscription is available on request at sinambnfa@um.dk.

It is the wish of the embassy, to be considered a service provider to all Danes - none the least the Danish business community.

Best Regards

Ole Lisborg
